All the students shall comply with college
Rules and Regulations. Regular and punctual attendance of
lectures, demonstrations, seminars, practicals, laboratory
work, clinical demonstrations, class and term examinations
etc. is compulsory. |

A) ATTENDANCE |
Each
Student Must Attend |
|
i) 75 percent of the full
course of lectures delivered in each subject and |
|
ii) 75 percent of the
full course of clinical demonstrations and/or practical held,
separately in each of the subjects in which he/she is to be
examined for the university examination. Students who do not
achieve the requisite attendance and whose progress and conduct
are not considered satisfactory are liable to be disallowed
to appear for the University examination as per University
rules |

iii) Students who remain
absent from class/clinics/practical without prior written
permission of the teacher in-charge/Principal will be liable
to be fined Rs. 50/- per absence of class/clinic/practical. |
|
iv) Leave of absence from
individual classes must be taken from the respective Head
of the Departments. However, leave for the whole day or more
days must be taken from the principal. Students taking the
leave are required to make up for the time missed in summer/winter
vacations. In case of illness, a medical certificate from
treating qualified doctor must be submitted immediately, failing
which the absence from classes shall be treated unauthorized.

B) EVALUATION /EXAMINATIONS |
1. Evaluation is a continuous process,
which is based upon criteria developed by the Baba Farid University
of Health Sciences, Faridkot as per syllabus/regulations of
the University with certain objectives to assess the performance
of the learner. This also indirectly helps in the measurement
of effectiveness and quality of the concerned BDS programme. |
2. Examination/Evaluation is achieved by
two processes |
i. Internal assessment or Formative
- It is done through a series of tests and exams conducted
periodically by the institution, attendance and discipline
etc. as per university regulations |

ii. University Examinations or Summative
- It is done by the University through examinations conducted
each year of B.D.S Course of five years as per the University
Regulations. |

Methods of Evaluation: Evaluation is achieved
by the following tested methods |
1. Written Test
2. Practical Examinations
3. Clinical Examination
4. Viva Voce
|
|
i) Attendance
in classes, class tests, term examinations and marks obtained
at these examinations will be taken into consideration in
assessing at the academic progress of a student and internal
assessment marks. Absence from any college examination will
not be permitted unless written permission is given by the
Head of the Department concerned, in consultation with The
Principal. Absence may effect the internal assessment. However,
student may be permitted to appear for such college examinations
at later date in case of leave on leave on medical ground/emergencies
with special permission of the Principal. |
